1. Admission Procedure
At Holy Angels College of Education for Women, the admission process is streamlined and designed to ensure transparency and ease for prospective students. The following steps outline the admission procedure for the B.Ed. program:
- Step 1: Application Form - Prospective students can obtain the application form either online through the college website or in person from the college office. The application must be filled out with accurate and complete information.
- Step 2: Submission of Application - Once the application form is completed, it should be submitted along with the required documents (see below for the list of documents). The college reviews applications based on eligibility criteria set by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
- Step 3: Payment of Fees - Upon selection, students are required to pay the prescribed admission fees within the stipulated time to confirm their seats. Fee payment details will be provided along with the offer of admission.
- Step 4: Final Admission Confirmation - After successful payment of fees and verification of documents, the admission will be confirmed. Students must attend an orientation session and begin their classes as per the academic calendar.
2. Eligibility Criteria
The following eligibility criteria must be met by applicants seeking admission to the B.Ed. program:
- Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree 10+2+3 Patern (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., or equivalent,B.E., B.Tech.,(Any Major) ) in any relevant discipline from a recognized university. Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) in their undergraduate degree.
- Age Criteria: There is no specific age limit for admission into the B.Ed. course as per TNTEU norms. However, candidates are encouraged to apply soon after completing their undergraduate education for a seamless academic progression.
- Subject Specialization: Applicants must have studied at least one of the subjects they wish to specialize in during their B.Ed. program (e.g., Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, Computer Science, History).
- Reservation Policy: The college follows the reservation policy as mandated by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC, etc.) may be eligible for certain relaxations in eligibility criteria.
3. Withdrawals
If a student wishes to withdraw from the course, the following rules will apply:
- Withdrawal Before Commencement: If a student decides to withdraw from the course before the academic session begins, they must submit a formal withdrawal request in writing to the college administration. The refund of fees (if applicable) will be subject to the college’s refund policy and will typically exclude any non-refundable deposits or administrative fees.
- Withdrawal During the Course: If a student decides to withdraw after the course has commenced, they are required to pay the fees for the entire duration of the course. No refund of fees paid until the date of withdrawal will be given. This policy ensures that the seat vacated cannot cause financial or academic disruption to the institution.
- Formal Process: The student must submit a written withdrawal application signed by their parent/guardian, detailing the reason for withdrawal. The application should be addressed to the Principal. Upon approval, the student will be issued a Transfer Certificate (T.C.) and other necessary documents.
4. Required Documents for Admission
- Completed Application Form: Ensure that all details are filled out accurately and signed by the applicant.
- Academic Certificates:
- Mark sheets and certificates of 10th, 12th (or equivalent), and Bachelor's Degree.Or Engineering Degree
- Provisional or Degree Certificate (if the final certificate is not yet available).
- Consolidated or Statements of Marks
- Transfer Certificate (T.C.) from the institution last attended.
- Community Certificate
- Proof of Identity: Aadhaar card
5. Important Notes
- Late Applications: Applications submitted after the deadline may not be considered for the current academic session unless special permission is granted by the college authorities.
- Verification of Documents: All submitted documents will be verified by the college. Any discrepancy or falsification of information may result in disqualification from the admission process or expulsion if already admitted.
