General Instructions for Student Teachers

Holy Angels College of Education for Women, Mettupalayam, aims to cultivate a professional and disciplined environment conducive to learning and personal growth. As future educators, it is imperative that Student Teachers adhere to the college’s rules and regulations, integrating them into their daily activities. The guidelines below are designed to ensure a smooth and effective educational experience for all.

Conduct and Discipline
+

As a professional institution, the college expects all Student Teachers to uphold the dignity of the institution through exemplary behavior. Student Teachers should conduct themselves with integrity, respect, and professionalism at all times.

Any form of misconduct, inside or outside the college, that tarnishes the reputation of the college will be subject to disciplinary action.

As future educators, Student Teachers are expected to embody values such as hard work, sincerity, commitment, and humility in all their actions.

Attendance and Punctuality
+

Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory. Student Teachers are expected to be in class within five minutes of the commencement of the session. Late entries are discouraged as they disrupt the learning environment.

Absences from classes must be justified with a valid reason, and frequent absenteeism will attract penalties or disciplinary action.

Commitment to Studies
+

Being a part of a professional teacher education program requires dedication and focus. Student Teachers are expected to prioritize their studies and professional development during their time at the college.

Personal commitments and family demands should not interfere with academic activities, assignments, or any scheduled events within the college.

Student Teachers should consistently work towards enhancing their skills and knowledge to excel in both academic and practical aspects of the teacher training program.

Uniform and Dress Code
+

Student Teachers must wear the prescribed uniform while attending college, during practice teaching sessions, and at all events and activities organized by the institution.

Proper attire reflects professionalism and respect for the institution. Non-compliance with the dress code will be considered a violation of college policies.

Leave of Absence
+

Application for leave must be submitted to the Principal in advance and must be duly attested by the parents, guardian, or warden.

Leave without proper documentation or approval will be treated as an unexcused absence and may affect the student's academic standing.

Participation in College Activities
+

Student Teachers are expected to actively participate in all academic and extracurricular activities organized by the college. These activities contribute to the overall development of professional skills and offer opportunities for leadership and teamwork.

Students should ensure they maintain a balance between curricular and extracurricular involvement without compromising their academic performance.

Withdrawal from the College
+

If a Student Teacher wishes to withdraw from the college for any reason, they are required to pay the fees for the entire course before leaving, as per the college policy.

Once the fees are cleared, the formal withdrawal process can be initiated, and no refund will be granted for the remaining period of study.

Examination and Assessment
+

All Student Teachers are required to meet the academic requirements set by the college, including participation in assignments, internal assessments, and final examinations.

Any form of academic dishonesty, such as plagiarism or cheating, will not be tolerated and will lead to strict disciplinary measures, including suspension or expulsion.

Library and Resource Center Usage
+

The college library and resource center are key components of the learning experience. Student Teachers are expected to use these facilities respectfully and responsibly.

Borrowing materials without returning them on time, mishandling books or resources, and causing disruptions in the library will be considered violations of college rules.

Grievance Redressal
+

In the event of any grievances, Student Teachers are encouraged to approach the designated grievance redressal committee or the Principal. The college has a structured process in place to handle any concerns in a fair and transparent manner.

Respect for Faculty and Peers
+

Student Teachers must show respect and courtesy towards faculty members, administrative staff, and fellow students. Constructive dialogue and cooperation are encouraged to foster a positive learning environment.

Any form of disrespect, bullying, harassment, or discrimination will result in severe disciplinary actions.

By following these general instructions, Student Teachers will not only contribute to their own success but also uphold the reputation and values of Holy Angels College of Education for Women. The college is committed to nurturing professional, ethical, and socially responsible educators who will positively impact society.
